Since a couple of weeks or so, I'm getting a popup window for 'Sound Reality ASIO Settings' whenever I start X1. I'm not aware of anything I installed that caused this to happen and I also cannot find where/how to uninstall it. Googling on 'Sound Reality ASIO' also brings me very little information.

AFAIK I don't need this at all. The dropdowns where to select the input and output in this dialogue window are empty too. I use an Alesis IO|26 interface that comes with its own ASIO panel.

Anyone any idea ?

Make sure your onboard sound card is disabled in Sonar. Then make sure your dedicated audio sound card has up to date drivers from Alesis's website

If the window in sonar is empty, then make sure the Alesis is on completely before starting Sonar. You may need to use WDM drivers id your card doesn't have ASIO drivers.

All sound crads have theirt own ASIO panel, this means nothnig as sonar connects to it.

May want to check how Preferences > Audio > Devices are setup in SONAR

Thanks!
The onboard sound card was actually never visible in Sonar (i.e. I could only see the Alesis inputs and outputs under Preferences). But it did turn out to be something of the onboard audio, because I then noticed that those drivers had been updated in June (Windows Update probably) and after uninstalling them, that Sound Reality ASIO thing is gone as well !
