I just recently installed Sonar X2 Producer on a laptop after upgrading it to a 64 bit OS.
I installed this sound driver called ASIO4ALL recently to fix a problem i was having with output sound. It worked, but now the microphone input on my laptop, which i was previously using to record(due to a lack of an audio interface), isn't being recognized, and instead the program only records sound from my laptop's built-in mic. This is obviously a huge problem which i have no idea how to resolve. I'm running it on a Dell Inspiron 1525 with Windows 7 x64. My audio driver is Sigmatel STAC 92xx C-Major HD Audio 64bit R153910, along with the 3rd party sound driver called ASIO4ALL, which i mentioned earlier. I've included a picture of my input devices. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

The best way to resolve this is to get a decent USB audio interface for your laptop.

I assume the solution should be in Control Panel > Sound devices??
Does the external mic show there? How are your Windows Mixer-settings?

For fluent DAW work a proper interface is usually necessary, though.
