Before I shell out and upgrade my current audio editor, does anyone here use Pyro? Seems like a sweet deal for $20. I just need to perform basic editing such as adding compression, adjusting lengths, fades, MP3 coversions, etc, on single .wav files exported from Sonar.

It can do all that nicely.

Yea.  It isn't as full featured as Sony SoundForge, but cheaper.  Check the Studio version - Sony will have it on sale cheap sometimes.  The studio version doesn't have all the effects and some other features, so check that.  But both products will do what you want.

So would wavosaur, not as slick as SoundForge but free.

Just a question, but what does Pyro offer that is not already in Sonar X2 Producer edition? Might be a worthwhile addition if it (Pyro) gives a tool/s not already provieded :)

Thanks

For me, it's easier to edit all of my exported mixes in a dedicated editor...I just find the workflow so much easier. Also, if I'm going to spend $20 to unlock the MP3 export option (which is ridiculous), I may as well spend it on Pyro.

AT: Thanks for the info on the Sony stuff, looks pretty decent!
