Let's leave war stuff out of the discussion, OK? For those of us old enough to remember it, it's still a painful memory 4 decades after the fact.

Cakewalk is something to be proud of. The American War in Vietnam, not so much.

Really sad, but typical.

I am sure you understand I used that for a reason. Wasn't about the war. It was and is always about the guys I fought beside day and night.....Especially the ones that didn't come back.

Reaper is american made and pretty sure pro tools is too if that is a strong factor for you. The fact that you mention it is made in america kind of makes me sad because it a a reminder that US is falling slowly from it's apex point.

Doesn't mean I only buy things made in America, far from it. But as you alluded to, and I quote you, "it a a reminder that US is falling slowly from it's apex point." exactly!

It is great that it was made in the U.S.A.  But now I would be happy if it was being made elsewhere, as long as it was being made well.

Hey Hey USA ,
Us Aussies will never forget your invaluable input in the Pacific WW2. You guys were awesome mates in helping to holding back the contemporary foes in both Europe and the Pacific.
Our foes back then are now our friends and we are so grateful for that............but such settlement of differences came at an extraordinary price.
I for one.....tip my hat to you and your ancestors for 'Being There'.
PS: Don't sweat.....the world is changing rapidly but Uncle Sam will always be a Major player in commerce & world affairs. Widgets are now made anywhere else depending on what time of day it is. As long as we all continue to partake in this shrunken Global village..........we will both contribute and consume....often with notable recognition.
OHH>>>PS: Us Aussies are coming up fast though.....so watch out!!

National pride isn't something in which I indulge on any level. It's not that I hate the USA or anything like that; it's just a non-issue for me. I've never understood it.

I do consider myself a taxpayer. This may sound odd, but it's how I relate to "nationalism" the most. I feel that I pay for the government to do a job and taxes are the way I pay for it: the government is a commodity of sorts. Sometimes, it seems to do a pretty good job, other times, not so much. I am not "proud", however, of living in the USA, per se. That just doesn't register.

I kind of found it kind of strange that you related to Sonar as an "American" product. As you may guess, I simply never considered it from that perspective.
