One possibility is Windows/Other updates... "Nothing's changed..." is not always guaranteed. Is your DAW hooked up to the Internet? If so, there is a possibility that an invisible background update for Windows (or any other number of programs) has inserted itself into the script stream. You might try reverting to a previous "Set" point in Windows (can't remember the exact terminology) when all was working. If you truly have not changed anything, then reverting back a bit shouldn't screw anything up.
Secondly, I remember sometime in the past hearing about an issue with Kontakt/Kompakt needing to load FIRST (issue was with Kontakt and EastWest Play) in order to play nice.
I also recommend contacting Cake support directly.
