  • Using X1 audio effects in Sonar 6 x64?

Hi there,
I am trying to stay on HS6XL since moving to Windows 7 but the 64-bit version does not contain many of the audio FX i used on Windows XP.  A 'LE' version of X1 came bundled with my new audio interface and (light bulb!) i thought maybe i could install it and point HS6XL to scan the VST folder for the X1 audio effects.

At this point, it appears to not be working.  Anybody ever accomplish this?  Is this just impossible?  Seems like it should work.

By the way, I love that the Sonar 'LE' version can be pronounced "so gnarly" -- I hope they did that on purpose!

Btw, my signature needs to be updated to show the audio interface as the Roland Quad Capture.

Just because your o/s is 64-bit doesn't necessarily mean that you need to use 64-bit Sonar.  You can install both 32 and 64 bit versions of HS6XL side by side.  Hopefully the required plugins will be present in the 32-bit version.

You won't know for sure until you give it a try, but my guess is that yes, any newer plugins from X1 would indeed be compatible with SONAR 6. The VST 2.x specification hasn't changed. I am currently using several X1 plugins with SONAR 8.5.

I could be wrong, but I suspect that the LE version only includes a small number of basic plugins.

Bitflipper, it is good to hear it is possible with a pre-X1 version.  Any tips about how you got it working?

Kev999, I opened X1 LE and it has several audio effects I want like reverb and delay, so i think I just need to figure out how to get to them.  It is funny, though, I do not find them in the VST folder or by searching.  X1 must have them tucked away somewhere I am not think of.

Thanks both for the response.

Perhaps they are DX rather than VST.  Do you mean the Sonitus effects?
