A couple of my songs off my album got featured on a podcast on iTunes, by ProgZilla:

http://www.progzilla.com/2013/01/progzilla-podcast-edition-38-february-2013/

It's a three-hour show of progressive rock music of bands known and unknown.  I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of compositions and recordings for many of these, and glad to be included amongst them.  My two songs come in about 40:40 into the podcast.

Everything I recorded and mixed in Sonar 8.5/X1 on a PC.  I used a pro studio for mastering on Digital Performer on a Mac.  (If anyone is interested in the tools used).  I would be interested to know about other musicians here who dabble with the genre on their Sonar DAW.  I do other genres too, but this is one area I really enjoy playing in...

And don't forget the lava lamp for the ultimate conditions....

Seriously though, I'd love to hear what you think, not just of my two songs there but the podcast in general.  It really goes to show that there's a lot more music out there available.  I often listen to AiiRadio.net on Saturday mornings and they were gracious enough to have me on for a chat and play a few songs, and there are many similar stations and so on...

And thanks.

BIG fan myself...Steven Wilson is someone I would kill to spend a year with. Will be downloading and listening tonight. I will following Bitflippers lead...minus the herbs. The FAA looks unkindly upon them...also no lava lamp, but a TON of candles and ALWAYS a good strong craft beer or 3...gonna be a good relaxing night, which I need! Thank you you all for planning my night...cheers!

Progressive rock is my favorite genre and I LOVE your compositions! Big instrumental parts, tempo changes, good sounds, creative and surprising song parts from A to Z. 100% enjoyment! :-)

@Peter

GREAT tunes!  I am a die-hard Prog/Rock keyboard player.

I like the care you put into the Blood on the Rooftops cover.  I had that song playing on a walkman way back when once while on a train through England, and the endless view of TV antennae on the gray English rooftops was so aptly described in that song.  It was a moment in time I will never forget.

Thanks for your musical contributions.

I also watched and listened to a few of the posted videos you put up - I liked those too.

If ever you want any keyboard tracks - shoot me a PM.

I love good music. It does my heart good to know that people are out there doing great music. I have nothing but pride that I am a member in a forum with a a great creative musician. What I like most in music is the new. Sounds I haven't heard before but done for a real purpose. I was just listening to a little Hendrix today. Than, as reluctant as I am to listen to member's music, I decided to give it try. I couldn't be happier in a sense because I have discovered a new talent. I'm on the ground floor as you get going. I'm not praising you at all. What I am doing is thanking you for letting me hear your music.  I couldn't praise you anyway it would be like praising Pink Floyd or Hendrix. Totally redundant.

Your music will be important to people in the same way as other great musician's music have been. It will live on.

BTW the Pod cast reminded  me of WABX here in Detroit. that was around in the late 60s and first turned me on to Hendrix and others. I don't think rock was ever as good as then yet you prove me wrong in that thinking. All I ask is that you keep it up and no matter what ever anyone says you have a duty to produce more.

Needless to say I'm buying the album.

May I ask John, why the reluctance to listen?
