Than, as reluctant as I am to listen to member's music, I decided to give it try. I couldn't be happier.

May I ask John, why the reluctance to listen?

For the most part its because it could be tedious. I prefer to believe that all the members are great musicians.

I can confirm that many of them are.

Here's just one;

Progressive rock is my favorite genre and I LOVE your compositions! Big instrumental parts, tempo changes, good sounds, creative and surprising song parts from A to Z. 100% enjoyment! :-)

GREAT tunes!  I am a die-hard Prog/Rock keyboard player.  I like the care you put into the Blood on the Rooftops cover.  ... I also watched and listened to a few of the posted videos you put up - I liked those too. If ever you want any keyboard tracks - shoot me a PM.

I love good music. ... I couldn't be happier in a sense because I have discovered a new talent. ...
All I ask is that you keep it up and no matter what ever anyone says you have a duty to produce more.  Needless to say I'm buying the album.

Whoa, I am flattered by all the responses here.

Although I got a bunch of very nice reviews online and in various magazines in Europe and North America (the label did a nice summary here), there's something extra special about getting these kinds of responses from forum peers.  Thanks for taking the time to listen AND post here too.

I have to say that it was very fulfilling to do a so-called "solo album" although I was aided by many great musicians who offered their talents when I needed it.  My musical tastes venture well beyond prog and much of the rest of the album does the same with some Jazz, Folk and Prog Pop featuring as a reflection of my tastes.

That being said, I do happen to play in a band that is more "pure prog" in case anyone is interested:
Gekko Projekt
We play occasionally in clubs in Southern California (mostly Los Angeles and Orange County), so if any of you happen to attend please do introduce yourself as it would be an honour and pleasure to meet you in person.

Thanks again...

Hello bapu - and thanks!

You can join our mailing list at these links:
Peter Matuchniak - Mailing List
Gekko Projekt - Mailing List

You only need to provide an email address in the windows that pop up.  There's a place for an email address and/or join up via Facebook.  Although you are not obliged to have a Facebook account to join the mailing list, I tend to provide more updates on our progress as well as an opportunity for you to enjoy my chronic puns and general British humour.

It would be cool to meet you at a "local gig".  My band is working on our second album but we're planning a few more gigs this year in the area.

Cheers
Peter

Hey VA, I subscribe to that podcast and it's on my iPod but haven't listened to this months edition. I'm pretty excited to have both of these worlds colliding! I'll check it out this afternoon!

Peter, you were right in your OP: you are indeed in good company on that podcast. I enjoyed the whole thing, and also grabbed the previous episode while I was there.

"Landscape Burning" is a great production, a superb mix and a tasty tune. Love it, herbally-enhanced or not. If those drums are real, they are extraordinarily well-recorded; if programmed, they are exceptionally well-programmed. Either way, good job!

Is that you on lead vox? Sure got a cool classic 70's vibe going on there. The female vocalist is superb, too. The vocal mix is just about perfect in every regard. For that matter, I like the whole mix; it's dynamic, nothing's overly effected or compressed, everything has its own spectral turf, the panorama is wide and deep, every voice and instrument can be clearly heard, even in the busy parts. Kudos to the mixer.

Hey!

Huge fan of prog rock! Haven't listened to your music yet (bet it's great though), but want to thank you for the tip on the podcast. I've been looking for something like that.

Anyone else got any music oriented podcasts that you listen to on a regular basis? For us living in Sweden there's a pretty good one from the guys who made the magazine Studio. Think it's called Studiocast.

Anyway, will get back and let you know what I thought about your music as soon as I've had the chance to listen properly.

Cheerz!
/M
