Hi guys,

I'm trying to convert a soft synth event to an audio track. I mute all tracks except the one to bounce, select the track and marking a range on the ruler but I can't bounce it because it says that there's no audio selection...Anyone can help on this please?????

Thanks

Hey, Freeze the synth.

Yes, that's what I was wondering about but If I want to reuse the synth, should I clone the freezed track?

YEah clone the wav clips to a new track because when you unfreeze it erases its track data.

Richard is correct. Any soft synth parts need to be frozen first. So select the midi part and go to Track/Freeze. You may want to set the freeze options. After you have frozen a track the soft synth is no lomger playable. But then select the frozen part and either do a bounce to track or simply copy and paste that to a new audio track. Once you have got the part onto an audio track you can apply all the automation and effects you need as well.

Then if you want you can unfreeze the synth and you get the synth back again for playing. Change its sound and create a new part. Do it all again.

As above. I usually freeze, copy, paste to a new audio track and then archive the midi track. If you unfreeze the synth track you get your midi back.

I will usually bring up a new instance of the synth if I want to add another track with it. That way I don't overwrite my old data accidently.

I'm a little confused... if all you want is to convert it to an audio track isn't freezing already achieving that?  do what ever fxs you want then freeze... if you need to change something later on... unfreeze.... am i missing something hear?   are you trying to duplicate for panning or something other than just freeing up cpu?  you just have to unfreeze all the tracks before mix down when you've got every thing just right.  i converted all my midi to permanent audio once and i do believe it thinned out the mix and made it yik quite a bit.  it didn't sound as good as the actual live midi.  unless i actually recorded it in real time to a separate audio channel.  came to the conclusion it was just a lot easier to freeze and unfreeze(if necessary until mix down.  if i want a duplicate of that midi track i simply copy the midi information to a new track and when i get the new track where i need it.... freeze that sucker.  just seems to sound better to me that way... plus you have the advantage of changing the other copied midi tracks sound just slightly to really make it a new track rather than just a copy.

The simplest way, at least for me, is instead of muting all the other tracks, solo both the midi track and the audio track containing the softsynth, select both tracks, then do a "bounce to track".  Voila, you've got a new audio track containing your softsynth!

Hope this helps!

No need to solo or mute, just select the midi track and the softsynth and bounce using "Tracks" not entire mix, . Guess there are a few different ways
