When i mix with ProChannel modules, my mixes get a pretty good dimension. I really really love this  and my client always very happy when i did mix with PC modules. So what is the mystery behind this? I sometimes mix on Pro tools with lots of expensive plug-ins ( like Duende Native Bundle, etc..) but no way.. never get this unique "dimension". Is it workflow or something else?

You know what they say?

It's not the tools it's the carpenter.

I am optimistic, and I believe that we all get a little better at mixing with each new day.

I don't think anything as generic as a digital signal process is going to have as much influence as the practice of simply paying attention.

It ain't like it's actual SONAR... it's just the audio spectrum.

best regards,
mike

"It's not the tools it's the carpenter.",,,,,,well giving a carpenter a blunt chisel isn't going to get him far is it

Well, you know what they say?

"If you can't sharpen a chisel you are hardly a carpenter."

sorry Mike but handing someone the antress plug-ins and expecting them to come away with something sounding good is pushing it a wee bit too far, PC modules are quality

Let Mike have his fun. I like a pro-sonar post as much as anyone. But I have to admit, Mike's take is always nice to read. With that said, I too must be getting better at mixing. Seemed to happen around the time X1/ProCH came out. Obviously a coincidence.

"let Mike have his fun"? That is disturbing. I see no fun in spreading misinformation and constant bashing. All I see is a very bitter person. One in which even CW has had to comment on his posting misinformation.

If nothing else, Mike is a "classic".

Personally, I would not want to do without PC at this stage.   I've become fairly dependent on them as the first (and often only) chisels I need to use. Their edges vary slightly, but they're all fairly sharp.    Besides, if a chisel is dull would a carpenter sharpen it or simply get a new one?   Hmmm...

PS: If the signal processing doesn't matter, then the DAW world never needed UAD, Fab Filter, Waves, etc, and could have stuck with included plugins all along...  right?

"carpenter sharpen it or simply get a new one?   Hmmm...",,,,, I think we are needing to take this one to Jesus, he'll know
