It is very discouraging to see that cakewalk in all those years persists in its policy of releasing new versions (commerce and money), without enough paying attention to existing bugs. A list of bugs (some are very old) which only grows in all those years. A politically very incorrect approach I think.
I started with Cakewalk Professional, switched to Sonar 8 and then came X1. I then quickly switched to Studio One - for good - because of that ugly GUI Sonar X1 has, which is a complete disregard of the user in my eyes. But I was ridiculed for it on this forum. Later I saw however that many good old Sonar users like me switched to Studio One (and its forum) when X1 arrived. It will be about three yeras ago now?
Studio One appears to me a great success. Very very stable, the company listens to its users and - even more importantly - react quickly! It is a pleasure to work with. Sure, some things score less like the midi editing, looping, marker use, but I'm sure that Presonus works on that. Every version-release offers more options, beside bug-fixes.
Cakewalk was and will remain my first love, but I'm afraid there's still a lot of water to flow to the sea before I get back to Cakewalk. In the meantime I still use sometimes Sonar 8.5 64 bit, just for the feeling and being in contact with my first love....
Cakewalk and cakewalk users: success in your struggles. I continue to follow you.
And greatly hoping the complete comercial staff will be fired at Cakewalk.
Making music in stead of grabbing money, yes!
