hi all,

now that I've upgraded to X2 - Ive uninstalled X1.  But the problem.  All of my X1 projects crash X2 when I try to open them.  ugh!   Has this happened to anyone?

Oy!

Have you tried rescanning the VSTs in X2?

Try opening these projects in Safe Mode and see what the X1 project is looking for.

Best of luck with this.

Hold down the SHIFT key when you open the project. It will show you which VSTs, etc. the project calls for and give you the option to choose which ones to load.

ok cool that worked.  now how do I get the old VST plugins in the file to line up with the X2 installation ones?

Not exactly sure what you mean by "line-up". If you've scanned the X2 plugin folder they should be there and load iinto X2 projects w/o a problem. Are you doing 32 bit X1 to 32 bit X2 or 64 bit to 64 bit?

If not I think you'd have to replaced them one by one.

I have X1 and X2 installed (as well as 8.5.3) and I don't have that issue.

I had X1 and X2 installed but I just took X1 off because I figured I'd be ok.    Apparently not.  :)

When I start X2 in safe mode, it only let's me select Yes or No to which VST's to load.  I don't know to re-scan for them.

Go to Utilities-Cakewalk Plug-in Manager and click the Scan VST Plug-Ins button.

sorry, hate to bump up an old post.  But now I have an X1 file that I can't get open in X2 *even in safe mode*.   Am I screwed?     Should I reinstall X1 and try to open it there again?
