Red Dwarf was part of my Friday evening 'escape' after a stressful week in the late '80's/early '90's, usually alongside Rab C. Nesbitt and Shooting Stars..and about a litre of cheap red wine.

Red Dwarf was a freaking left-field riot (as was IT Crowd although not SciFi).  RD makes me think of the old British TV series for Douglas Adam's "Hitchhiker's Guide..".  Did you all catch the original "Marvin" in the Vorgon queue when the HOG crew goes to get Trillian released in the HHG film of a few years back?

Lexx was weirdly entertaining. I especially liked episodes in which Xenia Seeberg appeared!

SG1 was really good too. The spin-offs, a bit less so....

+1 for Firefly. So many possible story lines that were never written.

I thought, honestly, that the series needed another season, but it wasn't to be. The stuff with Marena Baccarin needed to be resolved better, and in the movie it wasn't. The movie somewhat winded things down to close the book, but in the end, it took out a bunch of rather finely defined characters and killed a story line that deserved a lot more, than just some new this or that on another planet for their story line. The brother/sister thing, needed some clearing up, and she would have been a nice addition to the "new" group in the next season, but it wasn't to be.

Now let's talk about Red Dwarf. Because Red Dwarf is awesome... in a completely cheesetastic way.

The jokes were bad ... but it was fun to watch! Too much Dr Who inner jokes for me, but it made things fun!
