Now that i have my headphones working again i don't get any signal from my midi keyboard.  I can click on the drums with my mouse and i'll hear them but nothing from the midi keyboard...same with any synth i choose.

I checked preferences...i believe it looks good.

any idea?
Thank you!

What MIDI interface? Is it listed in Windows-Device Manager? What do you have selected in Preferences-MIDI Devices? Computer specs, soundcard, etc.??? Need more info.

hello,

I checked my midi devices and my soundcard (E-MU 0404 USB) is there.   I can see the signal reaching the sound card.

My windows device manager shows keyboard installed and correct....
I have a Lenovo intel core i5 4gb ram.    I have done projects on this setup.  Now i can't even get the midi keyboard to be recognized.

Verify the MIDI device is selected in SONAR Edit > Preferences > MIDI > Devices and the MIDI track input is assigned a value

Make sure input echo for the track is on,you won't hear or see any signal at the track without it.

You mean your MIDI keyboard is not displayed in Preferences > MIDI > Device? Maybe I don't understand the definition of a MIDI keyboard, but is the keyboard connected to your soundcard via a MIDI cable or is it connected directly to your PC via a USB cable?

You're right, my soundcard is where my midi goes through....and it does show up in devices.

still can't get it to play.

Is this a problem with X2 by any chance?

Can you play the standalone version of Dimension Pro, etc?

I do not know what you mean by an X2 problem? There is a problem somewhere. MIDI does not take a lot of configuration to get going. Support is a free call. Sometimes these issues can be resolved faster with a phone call. It should not be this difficult.

OK, but is the MIDI track showing that its receiving MIDI data? Try recording something.
If the MIDI track is not showing that its receiving MIDI data, then the problem is with the Emu0404 or your USB connection. Try unplugging and replugging the USB cable.
If you are loading Dimension or Rapture, make sure you also load a patch because the default is no patch and nothing will play.
Try it with the TTS-1, that's usually pretty straightforward.
