I am using Sonar X2, and I have a simple problem, I have some projects in which each track has Volume automation using a single envelope with its own shapes...
Now, I'd like to 'decrease' such envelopes by an amount, but, given the number of tracks, and the bad precision of manual mouse action, the idea to select all nodes, decrease by an amount manually and then having a good 'precise' result is out of possibility, apart being a huge job on some projects...
Does anyone knows a way to do this, even on single tracks, in a more precise way, may be with CAL, filters, or other features of Sonar...?

Unless I'm mistaken, simply use ctl-select to select automation for all the tracks, then ctl-select to select all the envelopes and your envelope editing will happen on all tracks... Then use Offset Mode to adjust the overall level individually for each track...

Sadly, I need to move the offset of nodes of the envelopes, as there is it's a dynamic volume problem I want to fix...
So, I need to lower all envelopes to have then more overhead to play with on some tracks at some points...
It seems to me, offset mode, is just offsetting the volume amount, but not the position of envelope nodes giving me no more overhead space to play with...

Not sure I understand the problem. Surely you can just select the whole envelope by clicking the little space to the left of the "R" button on the lane, then select the move tool, grab one of the nodes and the whole lot of them will move in tandem. If it's more precision you're after then increase the lane height to its full size. As you're moving the node a tooltip should tell you exactly what value you're offsetting it by.

I know this way to do it, but with it I found a problem...
If I select more nodes, the whole envelope, and the move tool, as you move the node you have selected, the popup telling me the movement amount appears giving 2 values:
 
1) The volume level of the Highest node in the envelope, not the one I have selected for movement, this causes the following problem : before moving, the value reported is the one of the node selected for movement, but, as I move, it changes to the value of the highest node in the envelope, causing misreading, and letting no understand exactly how much you have offsetted the node having lost any reference to the original value you started from... Finding and selecting what the highest node is in a complex envelope sometimes is really hard, and tedious...
 
2) 2nd Value, have not understood exactly what it is... usually a big value, like +35dB, but found no clue about its meaning, it appears to be about the same for any node I select, whatever its value is...
 
So, this is why I am searching for a more 'scientific' way of doing the job... if I want to lower, let's say 2dB from each track by envelope, I need to be sure, they are 2dB for all tracks, and not be fouled by misreadings...
 
Then I think, is it any setting in my X2 causing this behaviour ? Do you have same readings, or you really see when offset/selected node value amount while moving all nodes of an envelope...?

1) Yes - I've noticed this and the only way to get the right value is to begin the drag of your envelope whilst hovering over the highest point
2) The only other value I see is the readout in absolute dB, in addition to the offset value we're talking about in 1)

I find holding down shift helps too to ensure you don't accidentally move the envelope left or right by a little.
 
The behavior of the shift button is that the selected nodes will move only on either the x axis or the y axis but not a combination of the two.
