Hi Guys, my first post here so bare with me.

Recently bought and downloaded Sonar X2 Producer and got everything loaded.

I have got a Focusrite Liquid Saffire 56 with a Focusrite Octopre MK II (not the Dynamic) connected via ADAT, with the Octopre word clock set to internal and the Saffire 56 word clock set to ADAT 1 with sample rate set at 48 khz.

In Sonar, I can see Saffire Inputs Left 1 and Right 2 and Stereo all the way up to Input 8, but I cannot see the extra 8 inputs via ADAT.

Any body got any ideas on what to do? Or if anyone can point me in the right direction of some info or how to fix it that would be great

Thanks

Ollie

Do you have the ADAT optical output connected to your computer using a fiber optic cable?

In preferences, have you ticked all the input devices? You might have to ensure that they all show up. I presume you have the Mic Pre running through the Saffire. (Awesome gear btw).

Have you opened the Saffire audio software (Saffire Mix Control?) to see all the inputs coming through?

I believe if you have the pre running into the Saffire and the Saffire fire-wired into your PC, they should all show up under the Saffire and the Saffire should have inputs including Adat that you can route to tracks.

Best, G

No, I have the Saffire 56 connected to my PC via firewire, and the Octopre connected via ADAT to the Saffire 56

Hi Gswitz

You are correct, I have it firewired into my PC.

I can see ADAT channel 1.1 through 1.8 in the Saffire Mix Control, but nothing shows up when I open preferences in Sonar

Thanks

I don't know what the issue could be but Focusrite support is stellar. In fact if you changed the title of this thread to include Focusrite one of the guys might pop in here to help you. Cheers.

In preferences in Sonar it only shows inputs Saffire 1/2, 3/4, 5/6, 7/8. And some of the internal sound cards outputs on my PC, nothing else.

Also with my Scarlett I have never attached anything to my ADAT inputs but they are always there in Sonar's Preferences > Audio > Devices list. For now try uninstalling and reinstalling the Focusrite drivers/software and open Sonar again so the device scanner thingy (sorry I forget the name) has another chance to detect it. Also make sure you have the latest and OS appropriate drivers for the interface and maybe check your Windows > Control Panel > Sounds and/or Device manager settings to make sure something isn't hinky there.

No problem. I don't know how they do it but I think maybe their tech guys just google their product names all day and look for problems on the various boards. Matt is usually the fellow that pops in here and he's very helpful. It is however the weekend so they may not be around today. I think their dudes are also based in the UK so time zones may also come into play. That is all of course total speculation on my part but might factor into the brevity of a response. I have however emailed them in the past and they got back to me the next day and they have an extensive FAQ for all their products on their website so that's worth a try as well. Cheers.
