hello there and thanks for looking at my post, i recently brought a quad capture usb recording device , and also picked up sonar s2 studio, i wanted to use them to play and record my guitar on my computer, but its all a bit sloppy. chances are i'm being an idiot and doing something wrong just wondering if anyone can help me out.
so here is the deal i have when i go to play my guitar through the quad capture without x2 studio ruining it all sounds fine, every thing is in time and it sounds good, but when i load up the studio there is this awful noise over the guitar like a helicopter, and the guitar sound its self is muffled plus there is about a 3 second delay from me hitting the note and it coming out the other end. my computer has all the right specs to run sonar, and there is no noise when im using the synths on sonar studio, i have no idea what to do, help me please before i go insane  ha!

is the device set to ASIO? if not, change it to that.

open up the Quad-Capture software, and you can adjust the settings there. or you can do it from within Sonar by going to Edit/Preferences/Audio

nah its still being funny, not sure what i can do

Do you have the latest drivers for the Quad-Capture installed?

If yes, and it works fine outside Sonar, then there's probably some tweaking needed to be done inside Sonar (Edit/Preferences/Audio) to get it to work properly.....
 

Have you adjusted the ASIO buffer? Never use default settings!

Maybe its your guitar or pickups, or guitar cable(s) or something else in the guitar signal chain. Or its all the above. Just start taking things out of the signal chain to rule them out. its the only way to see whats causing the noise.

yea turns out there was some Roland pre amps working in the back ground once i disabled them and it all works fine now
