Does anyone remember what Eliot Carver said in the Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies? "Are we ready to release the new software Ms. Jones?

I recall that. "It's full of bugs as requested, which will force users to upgrade for years." -silly line. ha

My favorite dialogue in any movie right now (only humorously related):

"What are you doing?"
"I'm making Tea! The Entire British Empire was built on cups of tea."
"Yeah, and look what happened to that!"

Can anyone guess the movie?

I hope so too...

But what "scares" me, is that they're first asking now thinking to do something where I (and most of us) have bben hoping that they already were doing it! <sigh>...

More depressing than scary.  I can't imagine any feature in a survey hitting the streets for a at least a year - assuming that X3 is is being tested now.  It would be unlikely that they could slap a feature onto what I would hope is an existing major release build.

I don't recall seeing many feature requests in these forums.  I see mostly requests for bug fixes.

....Steinberg, Reaper, Studio One etc. they are all coded more independent of the Operating System and thus able to "wrap" the OS around them.

I would think that would make them less efficient.

...This probably is a weakness of Cakewalk's way of Sonar; being more dependent on the advancement of Windows.

Why would you consider an intimate knowledge of how the operating system works being a weakness?

I will personnaly be really desappointed withou X2b. I am waiting for the correction of the issue with Mux... :(
And I do not want anymore to pay for bugs correction like it was done with automation between X1 and X2!

I know you've mentioned MUX in another thread, but I personally haven't had a problem using it in X2a.  Are you using specific presets or modules in MUX?   32 or 64bit?  I wonder what's different between what we're doing.

I don't think it's all that popular around here, but I like it.   Between its delivered synths and the ability to chain together VSTi's it's a pretty cool plugin.

So...

Another month slips by and the struggle goes on... When working with Lanes I'm forced to go to 2 different locations on screen to accomplish a zoom that I can work with... Back and forth all day leaves me screaming mad...

...and their survey is first asking if we need/want them to work on fixing lanes as a priority?

Sad...

that's the rub, the whole "we're not allowed to tell" blag - i assume (hope!) they do have a plan but don't want to share because it's not what we want to hear... august is traditionally when the "upgrade now & get the next version for free" kicks in, so it shouldn't be long until the end of this phase of mushroom marketing
