Hey Everyone

My new album, An Unseen Sky finally comes out on April 7th and I just released a new music video for the track "Shadows on the Ceiling"

http://bit.ly/SotCMV

The video is about a little girl whose imagination is set off by shadows in her room and was directed by A.R. Kagan. Check it out. Would love to hear how you guys like it. It was already selected as an Official Selection for the 2015 Nevada Women's Film Festival and we're hoping to get it into a few more fests. After the album is released I have 3 or 4 more videos planned with different directors.

Enjoy!

Awes
Pretty darn cool!! For an instrumental, varied to keep my attention for the entire track, without too many changes, therefore becoming disjointed - if that makes sense. My only points to note, which are purely personal preference, but I would've had a harder/deeper snare sound. And I was waiting for some vocals, but they never came  But other than that, top job

Thank you :-) Yea no vocals... I'm gonna do at least one more full length album of all instrumental music and then, MAYBE i'll finally do an album with some vocalists. It's definitely something I'm starting to think I'm gonna want to do. As for that snare, yea I played around with some different snare sounds but in the end I ended up becoming just so married to the way this one sounded I couldn't change it haha.

Glad you liked it.

Video is well produced. Arpeggio/echos drive the song along nicely.  Lead guitar sounds great.  Beautifully crafted composition that would be ideal for music placement in films, and could also adapt to song (with vocals added). Well done

Minor Critiques: Kick doesn't translate well on small speakers. Maybe a little too much reverb on the kick.  Overall bass/bottom end is a bit muddy.

Liked and subscribed to your Y/Tube. Wish you great success!

Very solid effort, it's nice to see a concept come to fruition.

I think the Mom needs to check in on her kid a little more  :)

There are only nits that I would pick- the snare, for me, got very "samey" as the piece went on.
About halfway through, I wanted to hear it go double time, and the whole thing start driving harder, kick bass and snare doubletime for a while, maybe when she's in the maze, then for a resolution, bring it back down. That would give it a little more dramatic arc. Just my .02, it's a nit. I think your effort stands very well as it is.

I also think it's very cool that you are getting picked up by festivals here and there!  That would be a whole new level of excitement and motivation when it comes to creating music.

Your music and video were very beautiful, thanks for the share.

cheers,
-Tom

Thanks so much. Yea film is definitely my main focus/goal. Glad you like it! The low end is fairly muddy, you're right, but hopefully the kicks aren't too low on a lot of speakers... I did test the album out on about a dozen different stereos before finalizing everything. But there always seems to be some kind of setup that can change things (there's one song on the album called "Forgotten" that literally has a completely new instrument on my dad's stereo... it's like some harmonic sound that's probably a subtle element within some synth multi I'm using that you seriously don't hear on any stereo OR my actual monitors where I do my mixing... it's crazy haha). Thanks also for subscribing to the channel!

Thanks for your comments too! Haha, that kid needs to learn to just go sleep in her mom's bed when she's scared, not go all crazy :-) The snare has definitely been the biggest thing people have mentioned in comments on this track but it's one of those things where I just got so stuck on how they sounded on an early version that I listened to for months, that when I was finishing these songs I just couldn't change it. A double time section would have been interesting. Maybe for the remix :-)

Very well done.  Both the video and the tune held my attention and moved along quite nicely.  Good luck in the festival with it.

Could that little girl be any cuter?  She did a great job and so did you.  Full sound, nice mix and went well with the video.  I like it!

Haha I'll be sure to let the director know that you liked her daughter's performance :-) Thanks!
