Great job on this David...purely an artistic opinion which as you know, can go lots of ways, I have the feeling you wanted to convey some tension from the description of your song which is about a girl scared of shadows right? Unless I misunderstood.....so I would maybe have added some kind of scary shadow in there somewhere. While I see shadows none of them look scary :)...just my take to do whatever you want with including flushing it down the loo. The black and white does emphasize the object of the movie more which is that cute little girl :)....never mind I missed that the shadows were not necessarily intended to be scary...sorry.

The mix is nice on my headphones. Sorry I can't listen on a better setup right now.

Thanks Starise.  Yea to be honest that was absolutely the intention, and there's a little bit of shadows at play in the finished video, but at last minute the director had people drop out due to scheduling conflicts, but we had a deadline to get it finished for the Nevada Women's Film Festival (our intended first festival submission, which we did end up get into), so she had to work with what she had to make it work. But definitely we intended on more dancing shadows, and eventually to imply that the creepiest shadow on the wall turned out to be the mother opening the door to check in on her. Overall we're still very proud of what we were able to pull together with no money or help haha. Glad you liked it!

My comment is probably a bit pointless but to please me music needs to have more different elements. But as this is 'background music'? I can see why this type of music gets awarded regularly. Congrats on the award and the next awards too! If this sounds like bashing you are welcome to comment on my productions. It has been a long time since I have put any of my music online but it is mostly because I have been back in my apartment with no computer getting my stuff back where it belongs after some extensive repairs done on the house. Now the stuff is back where it belongs and I am ready to produce. Now I just need to get into the right mood to go through all the stuff I have been humming in my phone (there is lots of ideas there but it is not all usable stuff). What I mainly think of your song is that there is a good theme there but it could use a bit more company IMHO. The video looks good and it goes well with the music or does the music go well with the video, I don't know which is more accurate.

EDITED the latter third

hey kakku, i do the same thing, humming into my phone, when i'm not home to work on something haha.

anyway yea, technically what i do is background music, i mean my main medium is film score, so yea. but with these albums i try to push myself to build "songs" that have a bit more to them. i struggle with calling my genre electronica or alternative... it's hard to really classify 100%. the reason i think my music might seem either repetitive or like it could use more company like you said, is a combination of that film score background (my specialty in scoring is tension and mood stuff which tends to have a lot of repetition), but also because my biggest influences are groups where the music tends to stay the same a lot until a dramatic ending build... stuff like The Cure, Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails... I mean The Cure "Disintegration" is basically a 7 minute groove with little guitar and string pieces that happen on top here and there and it's one of my favorite songs ever :-) haha. still "Shadows on the Ceiling" has that middle section breakdown where things change for a little bit before the big end buildup, and then the music builds at the end until the electric guitar part which to me is like the climax of the song.

anyway, that's a lot of typing i just did haha but i love talking about my music and music in general. totally appreciate the comments. i always have room to grow and some of the songs on this new album are some of the most dynamic stuff i've done i think. i'll be sure to share more soon :-)

I liked it...  cool feel to the tune, and enough to keep it moving along without drawing attention from the video.   Not too scary, but still pretty cool.
