When bouncing to tracks in sonar 8.5 it was easy to cancel the process once it had started, simply press the cancel button at the bottom. It would even ask you if you wanted to keep the part that had already been bounced.
How do I do this in X2 ? I had to bring the task manager and force sonar to shut down which is not the way it should be done.

I too would like to know this and ask if there is a cancel option for Import as well. When I first went to import all the tracks from an old album (9 tracks x 17 songs) it started loading them in a way that I REALLY didn't want. I had to wait like 20 minutes before I could delete them and start over with a new import method.

Hi, Jonesey.

Isn't there a cancel button in the display to the right of the progress meter in the transport module when bouncing tracks?

I hit the escape key on keyboard.

Nope... unless I missed it. Might be different for bounce though.

I think I tried that too but I'll keep it in mind if I ever get into that situation again. I'm talking about Importing though not bouncing. I will try test that next time I bounce something.

Sorry to jack your thread Jonesey.

sometimes the ESC key has proved useful in some situations, im not sure it would work with this but it is worth a shot.
also, I've learned that when sonar goes in to that state(white screening/freeze)
every once in a while if you click on the sonar icon in the task bar and minimize it/maximize it sonar can sometimes be recovered.
as well by clicking on the RED X as if to close the application, when presented with the option "do you want to close/wait for the application. simply choose wait.

these little things have been a little helpful, how helpful ?
id have to say ive been able to recover using these 3 options 30-40 % of the time.

its fair though to note, I don't crash often so these number don't reflect a user who is experiencing high count problems.

best of luck.

I just tried an import. The cancel button is there too. It is built in the display of the Transport module where the time normally displays, when the import starts. Just to the right of the progress bar which is also created at the time of import.

Thanks. I'll test it next time I'm in front of the DAW (too much going on today). I'm pretty sure I clicked there because I was clicking all over that area trying to get it to stop but now that you've confirmed how and where it can be done maybe I'll figure it out. Cheers.

Ok
Escape works but also it is there in the transport module, just a very small "x" below the now time counter.
