So after this latest update from Windows 10 I power up the Behringer X touch, fire up sonar, open a project and it doesn't come to life. I've got Mackie emulation checked-in preferences under control services and the port is X touch. Nothing. Anybody have this problem and figure it out? Thank you.

Did you by any chance enable the new MIDI UWP driver ?

Rob is right the UWP disables USB connected MIDI devices such as the X-Touch.
I enabled UWP after reading about it in the 2017-03 Sonar update.  Neither my X-Touch or Frontier Tranzport would work with UWP.

Never heard of it. How do you enable it?

So I went to edit preferences MIDI recording and Playback but I don't see any drop down driver mode menu. That's where the enable UWP Commander supposed to be isn't it? Using Windows 10 at least the anniversary edition probably whatever the last one is.

I see what happened. That dialogue driver blocks didn't show up until I ran the latest update. Now we'll see if that helps.

At any rate I went through the process of the settings on the X touch, MC and USB, set the preferences and after the update tried it with both MME and UWP.
Still unresponsive even though when I do turn on Sonar the faders jump to the middle position.

The X-Touch is a Windows "plug and play" device.
"Refresh" the X-Touch in Windows.
Connect the X-Touch then go to the Device Manager and uninstall the X-Touch.  The X-Touch, assuming its connected properly, will be listed in the Sound, Video and Game Controllers section.  RIGHT click on the X-Touch entry and then LEFT click "Uninstall".  Then disconnect the X-Touch from the PC and restart the PC.  After Windows starts, connect the X-Touch and Windows should detect and reinstall it.  This "refresh" (as I call it) fixes a lot of flakey device problems.
