Go for it Beepster! Well done for sticking with it.....It certainly does get easier and positive posts like this will encourage the new users out there to really get into Sonar.

Things got easier for me after a year of using Cakewalk Pro Audio v4!!

Nothing gets easier. You just adapt.

corollary: The older you get, dying doesn't become easier, it's just increasingly more difficult to keep you alive!

That's the spirit, Beepster.
Like John, I have enjoyed watching you (and others) grow into the program.
When I started out with SHS4, I had no idea what I had gotten myself into.
With time, effort, reading, and experimentation, it all started to come together.
Yes, the initial learning curve is notoriously vertical, but it does get easier.
I join you in encouraging new users to stick it out.
It's definitely worth it.

+1 for sure. well said. Thanks to:This forum,Scott's Sonar X1,Mixing Secrets (Mike Senior)Mixing Audio (Roey Izhaki)

I'm about 60% finished with Scott's Sonar X2 Power! and feel that it should be mandatory reading for Sonar X2 users. I've read all1900 pages of the Cakewalk Users Guide, but Scott writes like he's sitting next to you and giving personal tutoring!

I subscribe to Sound On Sound and because of your post I decided to check out "mixing secrets" on Amazon and after reading the reviews I purchased a copy.

I use to record my five piece group that I had for forty years using an 8 channel Fostek tape recorder using 1/4" tape, 16 channel analog mixer, several Synths and an Amiga computer. Remember that one?

I retired the band in1996 and took up flying and biking (hence the Avatar) Last year I decided to get back into music for personal enjoyment. Have been drinking from a fire hose trying to get up to speed on all the software and the Jupiter 80.

It's all starting to come together with all the books and the very helpful information gleaned from this forum.

Thank you all!

Walt

Not sure where you remember me from. I don't owe you any money do I? :-)

As I gain more experience with all this "stuff", I would like to be a contributer and not just a lurker.
