I suppose duplicating the entire drums folders for each take is another workaround.  Or muting clips, but that could get messy too.  I guess in the end there is no elegant way to accomplish this.  Just wanted to make sure I didn't miss a feature.  Cheers for the replies...

Make sure 'Group Clips Across Tracks' is selected under Recording properties BEFORE you record your takes.
After that, I open (for example) all the take lanes on one of my Overhead tracks... Using the Mute Tool, I can mute/unmute each take and all other tracks (Kick, Snare, Toms, etc.) follow right along... Perfect for A/B'ing drums :)

You do almost exactly what I do, except I use take lane solo buttons, rather than mute tool.
