Jan, Thanks for the video.  I am doing the same things as you and I am seeing the same automation envelopes in the track.  The difference is that the mute buttons do not go on and off when I play the track and the audio is not turned off and on.  I am getting pretty sure this is a bug related to the V-Studio.
