I often need to move all the faders except the lead vocal(s) up or down to suit the singer.  A shortcut would be nice.  What I have been doing is turning Read off globally and then just yanking them all down.  Real pain.

In this situation, I just grab hold of the buss faders for drums/guitars/keys etc and pull them down to an acceptable level for the singer.

When you set it to None you will get a Missing Output warning next time you open the project. Don't worry about that because your sends are now your outputs. However you could just set the output of the track to the buss. It's the same thing really. Sends do however give you a couple extra controls. I used to do it that way for quite a while but switched back to using the main outputs and now only use sends as parallel outputs. It's just a matter of how you want to work. That may not fix your problem though. Just a wild guess.

The most important thing is you know exactly what is being outputted and to where.

Also double check those interleave buttons.

Yes.  There is a lot of study for me in using 'sends' and 'busses' correctly.
What i want to do is gather a group of tracks to a send and have processing on that buss while also keeping my original track free to go to master buss with less processing.
But as i type this i realize i should just have 2 groups of sends for this; one clean and one processed and then have none of the original track go directly to master bus.
This sounds like i need a very organized template which will be very valuable and time saving.

Thank you!

You can add them all to a Control Group. However if you mean ALL faders why not just use a bus instead? Actually even if you only want to adjust levels on a group of tracks sending them to a buss is usually a better way to go. Adjust the track levels so they sound how you like then just control the overall output from the buss.

When i send a group to a buss i seem to lose all my panning.  It's there but not quite the same.  How can i do parallel busses if i lose my panning?

Thank you

There is a lot of mixed terminology being used in this thread.

Are you routing the tracks to the bus, or using sends?  If sends, then are they pre or post fader?

Don't forget that sends have their own pan.

yeah this is still confusing for me.    I thought ALL 'sends' went to a new buss.  No?  i AM confused.  I wanted to send my original track(s) to a buss with some processing while keeping the original track also available to master buss.

Thanks for deciphering my confusion!

Think of a send as a "copy" of the original track.
The track OUTPUT will go either to sub-buss for grouping purposes e.g "Drums", "Guitars", "Vocals" etc or dorect to your master buss
The track SEND will copy the track output to another buss for parallel processing, such as "Reverb", "Delay", "Parallel Compression" etc where the affected signals are blended back in with the original.

This is very helpful.
