OK, I just posted that Automated Mute is not working, so I resorted to quick fader automation.  Ran the track a few times and got it close enough for working purposes.  Now I am playing it back and the automated vocal tracks sound twice as loud as they before. ???WTF???

No, Offset was not and is not on.

automated mute is working fine for me, is it because the mute button doesn't light up when using automated mute thats throwing you off

just read your other post, it is a bit awkward enabling automated mute on the mute button, would rather just draw it in

Thanks, Chregg.  I have been venting a bit today, sorry.  Fader automation starting acting up after the automated mute thing.  The problem with mute is that I see the automation in the lanes but nothing happens: for example, I can still hear both vocal tracks when, according to the automation in the track, one should be off.  Lots of discussion going on in the other thread.

I notice automation problems all the time. I set an automation and it never works, usually with busses though. The weird thing is if I close Sonar and restart it, the automation magically starts working. I think Sonar is just possessed.

In order for mute automation to work, you MUST right click the mute button and select "revert to automated mute"

It will work fine once you've done that
