Just wondering if you guys have your default for arming tracks set to allow more than one to record at once or not.
I've lost count of the times I've moved onto the next track and recorded without un-arming the previous. I have been too lazy/stupid to change it, at least up until now. Why is this?

I have an mixer with 16 ins. It would be very silly to not be able to record all of them if I needed to. Sonar is after all a multi track recorder.

Are you, as you appear to be, asking why you are too lazy to change this?  In which case, I do not know.  You are the best judge.

And yes, there are many times when I wish to record multiple tracks at once, so that is my only setting.  It has caught me out before, but no in awhile.

I've done it many a time

And to be honest, I didn't even know you could turn that off. Where's the option?

The only way around this I can think of is for another button in the Control Bar for "Exclusive Arm"

I'd like to know that too...! I ALWAYS record on one track only so I would love it if arming a track would automatically disarm another.

My bad, I really thought there was an option in prefs to arm only selected track thus hopefully and automatically un-arming the previously selected track. Must have dreamed it. I think that option would suit a lot of people that don't record more than one track at a time. I'm sure it can be done in cubase and protools, or at least that used to be the case. Maybe I dreamed that too ....

I've picked up the habit of always glancing at the transport's record toggle before arming a track.  If it's red, you know at least one track is already armed.  Simply click it to disarm all at once, before arming the new one.

Guitarhacker... I live on a daily dose of Ctrl-z, whatever I'm doing. ;-) and Studious, that's not a bad suggestion at all, certainly beats scrolling up and down looking for the last track I armed. :-)
I have put in a feature request but I doubt anything will come of it. Would suit me down to the ground though, plus a few others it seems.
