Ok, I know this is a loaded question, so forgive me. I'm buying my first plugin to use with my v drums in x2. Is there one that works best with sonar? I'm looking for acoustic kits mostly.

All the major vendors work well in SONAR. Expect to hear from champions of all of them when you post a question like this. All of them run sales too. If you time your purchase correctly you can save quite a bit on both the plug-in and expansion kits.

I have a Roland TDX20 kit. I use Addictive drums, Steven Slate, Superior Drummer2, and even Sesson Drummer. All of them work well with Sonar. The great part is that I use the Roland for direct monitor sounds with no delay. You can actually set up several different kits on different channels and trigger them all from the Roland. My favorite samples are from Ocean Way Studios. The amount of variability and choice using this approach far exceeds the utility of a standard acoustic kit. The Roland kit also plays very much like an acoustic set. I got rid of my Yamaha Maple Absolute kit in favor of this.

Phonic
I recommend uTonic if you like to create your own drums: soniccharge.com/microtonic
It is now 64 bit and it is excellent.

I've used Superior Drums with my v-drums and they worked great together. Superior Drums also has great effects and routing options.

You probably want to take a look at Superior Drummer, BFD, Addictive Drums, Steven Slate, and N.I.'s Abbey Road/Studio Drummer and Purrfect Audio Jet City (by our very own Jim Roseberry). They're all very good.

Thanks for all the help guys. Like I said, I know this is a loaded question and hated to be so vague, but I'm fairly new to Sonar and wasn't sure if it digested most drum plugins well. Sounds like it does. Next step now.....the credit card. I really appreciate the responses.
