Hello,

I'm having a problem getting all of my vst uploaded into x2.   Scanner keeps crashing.
"Streaming engine could not be initialized because of driver version mismatch" is what comes up.

Then i get another prompt saying it's closing and Windows will notify me of a solution (never happens).

Has anyone had this demon?

Thank y

Can you work out (from the list of plug-ins that appear the next time you run the PIM) what plug-in was the last to get scanned and therefore what the next (probably the bad one) is?  It scans alphabetically.

This sounds like a device driver problem. Do you have a Proteus X2 in your softsynth list? That requires you to have an Emu device connected to your computer. See this discussion: http://www.futureproducers.com/forums/hardware-software/software/daw-sequencers-samplers-software/help-proteus-235693/

K,

That is something I'll try.  It does stop at the same plug-in every time.  I will go in and get rid of it and see if that helps.

thank you.

Dave,
I do have a Proteus x2 in my list but i also did have my emu hooked up and good to go.  Still get the crashing scanner.

Make sure you have the latest driver for the Emu device.

If you watch scanning process you can usually see what plug-in the scanner is getting hung up on.  Once you find it - either fix it's problem, delete it, or move it out of your scanned folders.

If you can't identify the offender.
Check to see if you have the "Re-scan Existing Plug-ins" or "Re-scan Failed Plug-ins" checked and uncheck them - under Edit/Preferences then File/VST Settings.

If you have both these options checked the scanner will continuously crash at the same spot (when it hits the same plug-in) and never get beyond it.

Once you uncheck them - the scanner will still crash the next time you run it, but the following time it should skip the offending plug-in and continue where it left off.

Hope this helps.
