  • Multiple bus envelopes selected when time selecting in one bus

OK, I have messed up enough mixes with this one that I thought I would ask for some help.  Towards the end of mixing I usually start editing some bus envelopes in the track view.  I have noticed, too late many times, that if I time select (horizontal drag with the 'I' cursor showing in the desired bus track) in one bus the same time range in several other bus tracks are selected as well.  It is not all of them and none of the other buses were selected when I made the selection. I have even hit cntrl-A (deselect all) and then tried it but it gives the same results.

I can work around it by clicking on just the bus I want to edit after making the selection but I have accidentally adjusted the envelopes of several buses at a time by forgetting to select only the bus I want.

Any ideas?

The shortcut for deselect all is ctrl + shift + a

OK, sorry, I wrote the shortcut down wrong. I was definitely doing "ctrl+shift+a". I even did select none through the edit menu.   Any thoughts besides that?

No, not really.

I've just tried here and it seems to work fine.

My steps were:

  • in Track View, maximise the height of all busses
  • Using the Edit Filter, ctrl + click Bus Volume Envelope
  • Swipe across the timeline, and I can select which bus I want to work with - I don't have to deselect all or anything weird
  • Adjust the envelope on the selected buss
It's a possibility your project has some sort of weird corruption going on. If it's not too big & complicated, I'd try migrating it over to a fresh project.
Have you got other projects you can test it on before doing this?
Try & narrow down the possible causes.

Thanks for your help.  I will try some experiments when I get this current project done.  I will report back if I find anything.

Maybe i will include some screen captures to show what is going on.
