Naw, I'm pretty sure there's a way to do it. I just can't for the life of me remember how. Maybe one of the other guys can chime in here. Either way good luck.

Beepster tries to help and then bails. LOL!!!!

What is going on with you, man? Yeesh.

I was in a funky mood last night. Loves ya Beeps.

Well... alright. But seriously if something is up I'd rather we just discuss it, alright? You know I like you so if I've ticked you off somehow I'd like to know about. Cheers.

Thanks guys....the zoom feature really works.....quickly. i still do not like/understand where to look in console for routing info, and how to change colors to hit me in the face. Such a simple thing with pro tools got me hooked . I was able to connect outboard.

For your main track input/outputs there is a little module at the bottom of the strip. It may be hidden. I think you can check this in the Strips (It think that's the menu name but I'm not in front of my DAW) menu of the console. There you can hide/show various channel strip modules. As far as the sends again I forget how it displays the routing but that's where you'd look for what's being sent to what even if it takes a Right Click to look at the menu.

As far as colors showing you what's what you might want to take a look at how to use Icons to give you visual cues for stuff. Just right click on the default track or bus Icon and select Load Icon. It'll let you choose from a set of icon images, colors and graphics that came with Sonar or you can even create your own and load them from somewhere else on your computer or just save them to the icons folder. Another thing that can help is going to the Edit > Preferences > Customization (I think) > Colors and change the background/forground color of where the track name is displayed. For example I have left my tracks left at default blue and my busses are red so I know if I'm messing around with a track or a buss. There are also other options that allow you to assign colors to linked tracks and parameters but I'm not as familiar with those options. They are described in the manual.

Again... I'm still a learning myself so my apologies if I screwed anything up. Cheers.

Oh and don't forget about the Track Inspector. May not help with these specific issues but there is a lot of extra info in the various views of the Inspector. Just click on a track to bring it into "focus" and press the I key. The Inspector will pop up by default on the left side of the screen. Click on the tabs at the top to see various info and parameters for that channel. You may have already known that but it's really worth digging into as it's a really cool feature and there are lots of hidden goodies there. Cheers.

The way I've done it only changes the color of the little bubble where the track name is. There is no way to change the color of the entire strip by default. Sonar used to have lots more color options but they were removed in the X series. There have been a couple guys who created some mods that would make the colors and other stuff more customizable but I'm not sure what's out there for X2 if anything. I don't think you are going to be able to customize your colors exactly the way you want if I'm understanding you correctly but you might be able to at least find a method that works a little better for you. The color stuff is VERY different than Pro Tools from what I've seen and quite a bit more restricted. A lot of guys are pretty angry about this but as someone who's never experienced the old ways (I've only been a user since X1) I've just of rolled with what we've got. I actually never even bothered with colors or icons for a long time but now that my routing and buss setups are getting more complex I'm finding that Icons are indeed quite useful and to a lesser extent the limited color options. You just kind of have to poke around at it for a while to see what works best. Cheers.

Sonar did have some real good color options. But that changed with X1. With X2 we all were hoping it would come back full force, but that didn't happen. As beep says, colors are limited in X2.
