Hi Guys:
Just wondering is you guys had a favorite Channel Strip plugin that you use?  I'm really pleased with the Waves EMI TG12345.  It definitely has that "Abbey Road" sound.  I feel a bit like Geoff Emerick when I use.  But just a bit.

How about you guys?

I'm partial to the API 550...
and SSL E, and, and, and...and...

I agree about the TG...I did the demo and really liked what it did...
It's on my list...

It's happened one at a time but I have started to really like most the stuff in the Abbey Rd bundle. Usually I love the concept of a bundle and get disappointed by the individual plugins. Exactly opposite this time. The Reel ADT is the business.

And the AR Plates.

Yep...I building up my AR Collection...
I have ADT, REDD, and AR Plates...
only one in the collection that I consider "novelty"
is Kings Mic's...

I like SKnotes strip, although I haven't had a chance to put the newest version through its paces.

Also melda productions has a MONSTER coming, so if you're not hung up on the "vintage analog thing" I'd wait for that.

I was a big fan of this one, but it's been discontinued.

I do use IK's British Channel every now and then and I really like it, but 95% of the time, I stick with Logic's EQ and Compressor (which emulates all the classic compressor behaviour, anyway).

I can't wait to test drive the Mac version of Sonar and its own strip.

Since a channel strip is something I'd want to use on most if not all tracks, I'd say versatility, stability, and low CPU hit are musts. It also has to sound good, of course. The Metric Halo fits that bill nicely.

I love the Abbey Road plugins, but they hammer my poor CPU. I use them on particular tracks or buses.

For those looking for an inexpensive console-style strip, TBProAudio has a new one that's been getting some good reviews.

Cheers,
Eddie

Chandler, that's quite a teaser there.  Can you tell us more?
