Noob question:
I'm trying to put down some midi tracks with Session Drummer and my Roland V-drums using the TD-8 module. Everything is fine except I don't have good control over my hi hat. It seems to be fully open or fully closed. No in between. Am I missing something?

I wish I new.

I have the Roland TD-6 & of course Session Drummer in Sonar.
[I also have Superior Drummer 2.0, which I haven't used yet],

I'll try this and see, but I may not get to it today just yet.

Hopefully you get an answer, but I'll chime back in after I've checked it out.

Session Drummer uses these midi numbers for hihat
quarter = 22
half = 26
close = 42
pedal = 44
open = 46

It's probably one of the mismatch below :

1. Roland V-drums / TD-8 not sending the matching note numbers. I don't have V-drums, but it should be easy to check - just record various hats with the V-drums to a midi track and check the notes number.

2. The Session Drummer default sound library you're using do not support all the combination above, or it sounded very similar between open/half or half/close.

Have you downloaded the Content Club Rock Legends Rock 3 library from Platinum Samples ? It's easy to hear all the hats combination with this and other Platinum Samples library.

  Jiimusic, Thanks a lot. I look forward to hearing back from you...

Tomixornot, I have not downloaded the rock legends library, but I will. Thanks for the info, I'll check it out....

 I see only two notes in the PRV. Open and Closed, but lots of cc4 data showing the variances of the hi hat opening and closing. Still just getting sounds from the two notes
that are fully opened or fully closed. Surely someone has dealt with this on the forum...HELP!
