  • Sceensets Multidock bug?

Whenever I create a new project, one of the first things I do is import screensets from another recent project. But today this wouldn't work properly. On the first attempt, it imported the screenset names but none of the view windows were open. A second attempt from a different project worked a bit better, but the Multidock was still docked inside the main window whereas it should have been undocked.

Lately I have been using the Multidock, undocked away from the main window, as a place to keep all softsynth GUIs together. I was planning to use it similarly for other things too. But it seems that the Multidock's docking status is not saved with the screenset info, which means that if I want to use it the way I planned I will need to set it up from scratch in each new project.

Has anyone else had problems with the Multidock in screensets?

Is it anything to do with the locked/unlocked status of the screensets you're importing?

if you use the same screensets for multiple projects over and over again consider a project template instead.
there's no fussing with importing screensets this way.

So far I have never ever locked any screensets.

Back when I first started using X2 and experimenting with screensets, I tried saving a project template as the Normal template containing a few screensets that I had created.  But when I started creating projects using this template, the screensets were not present.  Maybe I did something wrong.  I'll try again.

thanks kev, I try to push the screensets templates on everyone to make their lifes easier.
its such a great feature to have in sonar because I can spend half a day(exaggerating) just setting up a large project.
and keep in mind you can also save a lot of things on the preference menus as well.
but the track icons, synth outputs, interface input levels, the list is big.

its possible it didn't work for you because of the directory you save to, that's a tricky one because after creating a template it defaults to save the template in the projects file location and not the CWT location which needs to be changed right after inserting the name.

thanks for the props my man
