Thinking I could clean up my computer and uninstall Sonar 8.5 and X1 leaving X2a unencumbered, I did just that.  So, I found that the Dxi synths disappeared and so did my control surfaces.  I copied the control surface DLLs from Program86 to program\cakewalk\shared surfaces, but Sonar x2a does not see them.  How do I get them to be seen?  I use Red Rover and a VT-100.  HELP!!!!

You are going to have to reinstall the missing objects from your X2 download files or disks.

Except, the Red Rover is a third party.  I have the DLL and put it into the control surface directory, but X2a doesn't see it to load as a device.  It is not on the X2A install disk.

If you copied the dll from the 32bit directory I doubt the 64bit version of SONAR will see it. There is a 64bit RedRover.dll installed by X2 but I suppose you may have a different one from the vendor.

I stand corrected, sir.  I needed to install the program files, something I was afraid to do thinking I would oversrite 2a,  However, all the surfaces are there and I am back to good.  Thanks!!

IIRC, the SONAR installer is smart enough not to overwrite files that are newer than the ones being installed.
