Hi All,

Im running Sonar x1 (64bit) build x1c with Omnisphere 1.5.5e (32 and 64), soundsources 1.0.2, 1.5.5 Patches.

The issue im having is after installing several updates I still have never been able to output sound from omnisphere. Ive tested versions, patches, uninstalled reinstalled, trying different midi sources but to no avail. I've tried to use 32 bit and 64 bit vst versions.

My STEAM folder is located: C:\Program Files\Spectrasonics\STEAM, the library seems to be loading fine but without sound.

Here is a screen capture of my vst setup.

Would appreciate any help possible and thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Josh

you need to open omnisphere from the Insert > Soft Synth menu. Right now you have it set as an effect on an audio track.

Thanks PP. I just what you said, but does exactly the same thing. Even when you trigger the midi keyboard you can see omnisphere light up on the application, but no sound.

follow the signal chain to find the problem. hitting a key should make the 1 tab on omnisphere light up and introduce an audio signal visible in the Multi tab. make sure your keyboard is set to channel 1 (or set the midi channel in sonar to send channel 1). make sure the audio track is set to receive Omnisphere A stereo. look up the insert soft synths tutorial in the help menu.

Thanks Perfect Print, Ive followed the signal chain, pretty much standard output to soundcard from soft synth using soundcard out (Delta AP12) and no buses involved. See below how the  1,2,3 tab light up with the midi triggering as you have stated. Have a look at this pic to see another photo of the triggering.

You can see that everything looks fine except the output from the vst track 18.

Could It be and install issue, could I have installed the order of the updates wrong?

I've been stumbling around X1 for about 6 weeks. but I did have immediate problems with everything Spectrasonics.

All is fine now, but you've got to try everything.  Try Omni for the midi track input, try output to master in the synth audio output track - anything you can think of.

What you've already done should work, and it was the same for me.

I still have a project I started when I finally got sound out of Omnisphere and it still works, but when I tried to recreate that routing in a new project I got nothing.

BTW, this can't be an Omnisphere problem, there's no way it will allow you to load patches if there's any kind of installation problem.

Good luck to you.

Ok,  I'm not good at this but here goes:

1) the volume (101) has not been changed..so try to raise that 1st. Your volume might be too low.  Probably not the answer, but let's start with the simple stuff 1st.

2) I see the midi meter up--which means the Sonar track is seeing midi,  Omnisphere should have midi track one lit up--it looks like tracks1,2,3 might be lit in your pic.  Is the "1" liting up?

3) In Omnisphere then there should be a horizontal meter movement indicating output.  in your Picture there is no level in that meter.  So it looks to me like something inside Omnispere is turned down.

4) You are in "Stacked" mode.  Try getting out of that mode, go to the main page and with your mouse, load a new sound and push the button (Arrow) under the words "Power Synth".  You should hear something without your midi channel involved.

I'm not sure I've solved anything,  but maybe gave some clues,  For what its worth,  I use Omni all the time (and love it)

Just wanted to add that I use Omnisphere, RMX and Trilian. All from Spectrasonics. Never had a problem with them running on Win7 64 bit and Sonar X1d Producer (or any other Sonar version).

The only headaches Omnisphere is giving me is that it's sounds can be bloody hard to mix. ;-)
