Using Omnisphere here, works fine.

I had to set it up manually though, when I just dragged it in and let Sonar handle adding all the in/outs in a track folder I got no sound when playing midi data on the midi tracks, even though when I opened up Omnisphere and pressed the preview button it worked fine.

Here's what works for me:

Add Omnispere to the synth rack manually.

Add an audio track and a midi track.

Set the audio track input to: "Omnisphere1: Omnisphere A Stereo

Set the MIDI track output to: Omnisphere1

Set the MIDI track channel to: 1:Omnisphere.

Then it should work.

And yeah, it sounds gorgeous but almost everything is so huge sounding that there's no room for anything else in the mix without lots of tweaking :D

Ok Guys, Thanks for all your suggestions. I have tried every suggestion but still no sound, you can see everything lighting up except levels in omnisphere.

Lets go back to square one. Do you think ive installed Omnisphere incorrectly? Perhaps you guys have some tips with installing the updates and sound files order?

Thanks again.

what happens when you press the preset audition button in the browser view (small play button)?

Ok, So after months of trying, I finally got it working. As I thought it was an install problem because after installing correctly I didn't have to fiddle with any settings in Sonar, it worked immediately.

So here's the steps I took.

1. I cleaned up any previous files eg steam folders and vst's from existing installs.
2. Re-installed each DVD from original package, I installed the vst to program files\cakewalk\vst pluggins.
3. Installed Omnisphere Patch Library Update v 1.5.5
4. Installed Omnisphere Software Update v 1.5.5e
5. Installed Omnisphere Soundsource Library Update v 1.0.2
6. Installed Omnisphere Software Update v 1.5.6d
7. Run vst scan in Sonar..
Works Perfectly!

Before I followed everything above but once I added step 6 and installed the previous version of the software update over the top of the other one, everything worked beautiful!

Very happy with my Omnisphere now!

Thanks for all your help. Hope this helps someone else in the future.

After you install omnisphere to cakewalk plugins, is it ok to install the sounds/ library somewhere else?
