From my Cakewalk account;
Sonar X2 Producer Parts 1-4 are being stopped from saving download as Malicious Software.
"W32/Delf.N.gen!Eldorado" is being detected as Malicious Software Infection.

"W32/Delf.N.gen!Eldorado" Adware is any software package which automatically plays, displays, or downloads advertisements to a computer.

I haven't attempted to prevent my system protection from ignoring this yet because I don't know enough about exactly what it is and why it's
being detected inside my files at my Cakewalk account.

Can anybody explain why Sonar X2.exe has that Malicious Adware Infection contained in it?

It is most likely a false report. There are md5 hash values associated with the files in the links at the bottom of the install instructions. You can use a tool like WinMD5Free to validate the files before installing them.

WTF?

So everybody has to get a tool like WinMD5free and validate the files from their Cakewalk account to
deal with false reports? BS

How can you validate and install files that are prevented from downloading to save in the first place?

Is it possible nothing is going to happen when you save it, its more concerned with when you install it ?

you can do what you want, but if it makes you feel any better spacey, ive never had this warning nor have I ever downloaded anything from the cakewalk account that had this type of virus alert.

Forget my question.
I sent the issue in to support and then asked if they could tell me
when whatever it is they are going to offer will be offered - that I'd rather
wait another 6 months for it than to deal with this crap. Done with X2.

I thought I was pretty clear;
It won't save. My protection detects the issue and prevents saving the file.

I know your upset man.
but just think, what if it turns out to be nothing ?
then its not crap your dealing with at all.
it could be your antivirus, I just did a search on this and only 2 antiviruses are showing this as an issue.
both ive never heard of.

some programs can be very helpful.
like the sonar x2 export to soundcloud.
yet some anti virus look at this as adware.

good luck man.

When possible it is a good practice to validate downloads for a variety of reasons. The people at Cakewalk were kind enough to generate the md5 hash values. Use them or don't that is your call. The fact that you have a piece of software on your machine that claims to have an issue with these files might be the source of what you call BS. The only thing preventing you from downloading the files is you. Of course, you have other options such as contacting the vendors and discuss it with them.
