Hi all - finally digging into X2 on a real project and can't get take lanes to pan.  For example: I have 2 takes of guitar.  I want one left and one right.  For each take lane, T1 and T2, I use > clip automation > clip pan.  When I move the yellow envelope up the volume gets lower and when I move it up down, louder. BUT NO PANNING Note: the main pan in the track works fine.  What's the solution other than just using tracks or is this a quirk in the controversial revamped take lanes?

Thanks in advance, Chuck

Try changing the track interleave to stereo.

Scook - Cool! I was looking all night for the little interleave icon,  I even looked in the tool shed in the back, under the bed etc. I didn't know they changed the icon from a little wave image to a circle.  Thanks for the help!

Glad you got it figured out. Hopefully the icon will be the unchanged and in the same place in X3.

If the audio is playing simultaneously I'd create a new track for one of the parts. Perhaps that's just me though. I find the lanes make overlapping audio sound weird and washed out. It wasn't like that in X1 with layers.

If you are dealing with multiple tracks in one lane though you might want to look at what the Channel Tools plug can do for you. You could use it as a clip based effect instead of screwing around with the channel strip fader. Just a thought.
