Hey y'all,
One of the projects is all MIDI except for a couple of vocal tracks, the other (which I'd like to put at the end on a specific beat of the other) is all MIDI....most of the instruments in the 2nd project are used in the first also (ie both have 5 tracks of Cinematic Strings 2) but some aren't (ie 2 instances of Z3ta2 in the 2nd).
I know X2 isn't doing nested projects yet but I wonder if a track template would work....just checking my options before copy/pasting all this stuff (including automation).

I believe there is a video that shows how to merge two projects. IIRC, you drag the project from the browser. You can then set things how you want.

I just made a big mess doing that and had had to bail....probably because I had everything on different track numbers and it loaded all the synths I already had in the 1st project.
I think it would be best if I just copy/paste individual tracks into the appropriate tracks.

You could save one of the entire projects as a Track Template... and load that into the other.

That's what I was thinking Jim but I can't find a way to make it save the data on the tracks (which is all I really need)

If all you need is the MIDI data, save the project as a MIDI file and import the MIDI file into the other project.

I tried that but wound up with another mess...sorry to be a dumb-ass here guys but is there a way to just clone a track from one project to another?

You can copy tracks one by one between songs. It goes fairly quickly.

You can copy more than one track at a time between projects too. Select tracks, copy then paste special starting with a new track.
