  • Sonar can't find mfc140u.dll AND can't (?) reinstall Sonar

Successfully installed several weeks ago, but after following some iLok instructions to get THEIR licensing installed (unsuccessfully--with their hideous process included uninstalling all Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributals), and then trying to launch Sonar I got a message that it can't find mfc140u.dll--although I can see several instances of it residing in various folders--just not any Sonar folder.

Went to Command Center to reinstall Sonar and only option is "Launch"...although I can right-click and it gives me an option to uninstall, along with ALL OF ITS COMPONENTS...which scares me to death.

Any advice?

Roll back to a previous version the roll forward to whatever you are running now. Right-click SONAR in the Command Center to bring up the context menu. The rollback function is on the context menu below the uninstall option.

Thanks a million for the prompt response.  I'll try that.

Yes, that took care of things.  Thanks a million again.

This episode has made me realize how important it is going to be in upcoming years to have a community/reliable support with whatever "backup DAW" I end up choosing.  I'm figuring SONAR will work for years, but...what if it didn't?!  I'm definitely going to have to have a backup.

Thanks again, so much!
