I just 'retired' a CME UF-8 also. What an un-impressive company. The USB drivers never worked right and the keys started sticking after about 3 months. Really lousy quality control and support. Never again!

Well, I heard that there might be a something you might like coming out at NAMM - certainly worth the wait to see, Cryo.  Also, Sound on Sound gave a thumbs down to CME, tho it was a few years ago.  You'd think that CME would have got their stuff straightened out.

Cake/Roland is supposed to have a midi keyboard controller.  Don't know what all it has for control, or even if it is any good.  But it ought to be worth waiting for Namm to see.

Anybody here using a CME VX-Series controller with Sonar? If so, how is it working out for you? Do the transport controls, faders, drum pads, etc. integrate fine? Any issues I should be aware of? FWIW, I'm considering the VX-50 or VX-60. I wouldn't mind hearing from UF-Series owners as well in terms of overall quality or any issues. Thanks!

The short version:  It was terrible.
 
If you're wanting a 61-key controller, I'd go with Novation or Edirol.
 
I'd like to see a few more 76-key MIDI controller options.  
 

Thanks for all the input.  Unfortunately, I've already ruled out anything from Roland or Novation -  I really despise their combination pitch bend/mod wheels (especially Roland's) and I've had nothing but bad luck with Novation ever since FocusRite got involved.  AutoMap drove me postal during the few weeks I owned a Zero SL.  I guess I'll keep looking, unless they surprise me with something at NAMM that works for me.  Thanks again!
