Thank you Noel.

Some good insights, and I'm currently seeing the results of them in action.

As an aside to the mentioned Intel co-operation for newer CPU's I'm seeing good improvements over S7 here on a modest dual core AMD based machine with much greater robustness and stability too.

I've mentioned it before in terms of Software maintenance that whatever point name you give it's been pretty good value for me on a 2 year upgrade/update/maintenance cycle yielding a very low cost of ownership for Sonar users on the same cycle along with genuine performance and stability improvements over the same time period.

So...it's well done from me!!!...

Cool. Right the work we did with Intel definitely pays off for AMD users as well. There are many similarities in both the Intel and AMD processor architectures, at least with regard to the kinds of things we tweaked.

This feature might also be aptly named the motorboat cop.

Yay! Good one, Noel!

The plug-in manager now makes an additional per-plug-in property available called Always suspend on Play.

This one got me very excited, until I remembered that the biggest offender is not a VST: the Sonitus Delay.

Async processing for VST opcodes

Another good one! One of the first things I noticed when running 8.5 is that I can now open most soft synths' UIs during playback without everything coming to a screetching halt. I, for one, appreciate these kinds of enhancements.

Thank you, Noel and CW team for remembering the importance of optimization and small usability enhancements. And thanks for feeding us techies a few crumbs here and there. I, for one, appreciate that kind of information.

Now, if you could just convince the Sonitus Delay that yesterday's echoes are no longer needed for today's playback, I'll construct a shrine in your honor.

In reading the "fine print" I am impressed by how deep the logic and the thinking has to go in order to get something done. This is why I pay my fee to CW for the use of this program. I find that this sort of thing is best left to the professionals that can understand and  identify just what has to be dine. Outstanding work Noel. 8.5 is another winner from CW!

Thanks, Noel!

I did notice better performance and less quirks with 8.5 as soon as I upgraded, especially with UAD plugins. The Geeky stuff just explained why. For us tech heads, this is a must know. Thanks for the precise explanations, especially the mixing of VST and DX plugs in the same bin, which was giving me problems in older versions and slower computers from the past. I wish I knew this before!

Keep up the great development!

Just to say that it would now appear that my Arturia synths now seem to work much smoother.  Thank you

Still have not heard for CS about Guitar rig 4 then its is ONLY four working days since I sent them a missive.

Amen to that!!

I took advantage of that deal and I'm really glad I did.  Best amp simulator out there, IMHO.

Hi bitflipper,

I have some good news for you. The Sonitus delay issue was also fixed in 8.5. Bob Damiano fixed that one way back in March. Echoes of yesterday are no longer an issue.
Thanks for reminding me - I'll add it to the fine print.
