Wow! I was sitting on the fence here as far as upgrading to 8.5 but now it seems inevitable. I just need to decide what 64 bit platform to get. I think I'm going to wait til Windows 7 ships so that I don't have to deal with those issues. This kind of transparency is unparalleled and truly appreciated.

Hi bitflipper, I have some good news for you. The Sonitus delay issue was also fixed in 8.5. Bob Damiano fixed that one way back in March. Echoes of yesterday are no longer an issue. Thanks for reminding me - I'll add it to the fine print.

Tell Bob he's MADE MY DAY!

I was waiting for this post.

It's very much appreciated, and just nice to know these details!

Thank you for the information! This makes my decision whether to upgrade much easier. And as I just had a bad experience with a competitor's LE product, it makes me even happier about the transparency of Cakewalk.

Hi Noel, my friend! =)

Sir, can you please share more indepth info about SONAR and its technology...
How & why example: How 64bit and how bitbridge technology actually work down to core base?

In depth Tech-Questions.

Q1: Do you use kernel calls directly to the API?

Q2: What languange do you all use programming SONAR and all plugins? C++, Microsoft visual basic?

Q3: Are you using any core-lines that you have got driectly from Microsoft or Intel, that benefit optimizing for SONAR 8.5 under those system?

Q4: 64bit and how bitbridge 32bit-->64bit technology actually works down to core base? Calls and so on?

Thanks for this outstanding Thread, Sir!
Best Regards
Freddie
