Hi all.

I am trying to use some strings sound fonts that in combination with samples make the sound better, that is more realistic. Neither the fonts, nor the samples (though from a good library) are by themselves satisfying tone color wise. However, for some reason, I can't seem to use CCs with SFZ+ to automate some of the parameters of the fonts. Can enyone enlighten me a bit?

Thanks, S.

SFZ is like Cakewalk forgotten ware. I wouldn't be surprised if it was never implemented and never will be.

Which CC's do you want to use in order to modify "tone color"? Just about any decent sfz player should respond to the basic standard CCs (volume, pan, chorus, reverb, ADSR and modwheel). Volume, attack/release envelopes and the modwheel are the most helpful for making string samples sound more natural. You should be able to insert MIDI automation into your track to control these parameters.

Ditto , I never have trouble with SFZ when using Session Drummer, they act like any other midi sound source.
Record a jar full of mosquitoes and add some reverb..
