Umm. So what sampler should I really have used for this little project? I'm sure session drummer wouldn't have been a real keyboardist weapon of choice if placed in a similar predicament .

I wish to disagree with the OP. He is wrong. It wasn't Sonar that bailed out his band it was him. We can think that the tools we use are the reason we are doing a good job but in truth it is our skill.

I'm with John on this, 100%: it was you who saved the gig.  It does, however,  help to have the right tool for the right job, as my father used to hammer into me..

With a hammer, oddly enough, but at least I knew it was the right one for the job..

Thank you all for the kind kudos. I really wasn't trying to stroke my own ego. I just wanted other members that may be having difficulties or learning pains to keep their spirits up. Sonar is indeed a very powerful tool that can be used in many creative ways that may be out of the norm. Though I will admit, evidently I've been very lucky as all of the versions have been very stable for me.

I've used Cyclone for this kind of thing in the past.  But if Session Drummer works then I wouldn't say it's the wrong tool at all.

I agree with previous posts though.  YOU made it work, not Sonar.  You shoulda got the keyboard player's cut!
