In my opinion, Logic isn't Mastering software, only Mixing. Not that you
can't Master with it. However, there's lots that you need specific tools for Mastering, and Logic likely doesn't have many of them. I'm sounding off snooty here, but one can appreciate a bit of snootiness when they're being peer-pressured into a different DAW for Mixing/Mastering, but have some doubt.
All of the major players do the job. It's a matter of portability, convenience, and knowledge of how to use those tools. With that said, the parts that matter most (the sound) are typically DAW-independent. So, don't let someone sway you to the dark side because it's what they love. Now, if they believe Logic is the best thing to Master with, ask them to take a look at Wavelab 8. If they can show that Logic can do everything Wavelab can for Mastering, then I'll Pepsi-challenge that one in a heartbeat. However, if they believe Logic is better than Sonar for Mixing, that's pure subjectivity and experience. You show me a guy who knows Logic and uses it with ease, and we can introduce you to Brandon, Fast_Biker_Boy, or some of the peeps here that are killer Sonar aficionados. I'm just having fun here, but you get the general idea. It's about what you feel is best for you.
Best of Luck!!
