Is there any way to make a bunch of notes in a chord SNAP to the next beat when adding length to them in PRV?
I often find myself lengthening chords to make them fill a bar exactly and not end just short of it. But at the moment I have to snap each individual note one at a time. Like watching paint dry.
 
Sure there's an easy solution but I can't see it.

Use Quantize and only quantize the note duration, not the start. Depending on where the notes start etc. some notes will become too long, but it will fix most of the notes, I think.

How about using input quantize (deselect event start times and select note durations) when recording the chords? That will make the edit a little easier, I think.
There seems to be no way of enabling/disabling input quantize of all MIDI tracks at once, but there's a global input quantize setting page (simply named "Input Quantize" but not the one you can select from the input quantize pull-down of each track). I don't know how to open it without using a shortcut key, though. The command is called "Launch MIDI Input Quantize Settings" and no keys are assigned by default.
 
Hope this helps. But someone else might know a better way.
 
Edit: Actually, this doesn't make the edit easier at all, does it? lol...hmm...maybe you should input quantize everything, including the event start times.

right click and drag to lasso the notes only in the chord you desire. (like I do in my drum editing video)
once they're all highlighted grab only one of the notes and drag it to the next beat.
by grabbing one note, they will all move at the same time when they're all highlighted(the notes of your chord).

True, but when the ends don't align to begin with, they will still not allign after doing this.

Hey guys - thanks for your help - you've given me my solution.
Turns out I had never used the 'note duration' mode before.
I've used it on a simple chord structure but it may take a little tweaking on a more complex piece.
Much time saved. Thanks again.

if you lasso-select the notes and drag the edge of the first note to the next beat, it will result in...
 
2:1:000
2:1:240
2:1:480
 
so it will still require adjustment on the second and third notes.
Of course, if you choose a longer note duration like "1/2" when quantizing, there'll be no need for this adjustment.

That's what I meant indeed. But it's of course true: if you set the snap 'right' (like whole measures) and at 'full strength' it should work! Didn't think of that.
