I know we can set up a keyboard to play more than one vsti what I am looking for is info on the ability to create a situation were the lower half of the keyboard is set up to play say a pad sound from one vsti and the upper half is set up to play a lead sound from a different vsti?

Also I attempting to use perfect space but I can't seem to find the data necessary to load a prese,t when I clicked load it opens up in my documents file were my patch data is for my vsti's and I have looked all over for something on my hard drive to try and see if a file in some cakewalk folder has my presets or whatever it is I need to use my perfect space reverb. If anyone knows were I might find this data it would be cool of you to let me know were I might find it. I had a dreadful thought that maybe it did not install it and its missing.

In perfect space there is an icon at the top of the plugin to select an impulse to be used to generate the reverb. The icon looks like a file.

The above link talks about splitting your keyboard to different synths. I've never done this.

One last tip. When you have a plugin open, you can hit F1 for help on how to use it. Not all plugins support this.

checked that thread out they were suggesting using cantabile and or forte in tone will do it as well I was hoping to at least be able to do a split layer within sonar but it doesn't appear to be possible

Don't have X2, still on 8.5 (holding out for the colours CW!), but assuming it's still much the same, use the notes section on your midi event filter plug in on your midi track to assign the note range for that synth. Do the same for your other synths on their midi tracks and switch on input echo for each synth you want active at the same time. Not as elegant as Omnisphere, for example, but it will get you there.

Splitting the keyboard is covered on page 37 of the Edirol PCR manual.

Set the upper and lower ranges to different channels, e.g. 1 and 2. Set the midi channel in the midi tracks of the two softsynths to channels 1 and 2 respectively.

Another idea is to use a drum map. I think it's possible.
